Working With Bombard Balloon Adventures: Page 7 - Flying in Burgundy The trip we had next presented many firsts for the company. Buddy had never before catered for a group this large for this long and .. well I'll explain the rest as I go. Basically the grandmother of a family who had been on trips with Buddy in the past had made special arrangements to pay the $0.48million for 41 of her family to come out and get buddified. Whilst 2 guys hold open the mouth, somebody needs to be at the other end velcroing up the parachute - so here's Chris kindly about to oblige. It was the first flight .. then out of nowhere the pilot asked if I could jump on as dead weight ... he was fired later that night :p (not for this exactly though) Neeeeeedless to say .. it was a pretty cool experience. Burning... ... I'm sure I heard that Bob (our chef) cooks or toasts stuff during flights with the burners or something? the sky as always was amazing .. yady yady yada Some paragliders on a nearby hill ... again .. pretty colours :D It's a shit pic as it was getting dark .. but this kid was going mental waving at us .. it was really funny :) hmm ... vines. The symmetry often did weird things to your eyes when you were driving. ... more waving locals ... the rest of the crew running in to land us on a road. The kids "helping" us to get the air out :) Chateau Sauvigny .. where we ate that night. The guys spend a lot of effort doing the place up .. The place is lit by hundreds and hundreds of candles stuck in Moët bottles ... another room Ash taking it from the kids like a man. What can I say - the guy's a total leg. Dan and himself must have earned us most ouf our tip that week. The other highlights of the week included ... watching a transit van and trailer jump more than a metre clean into the air after hitting a hidden bump in the road the whole action that accompanied the incident where some pissed up wanker of a farmer decided to come out waving a crowbar and began screaming at a basket full of kids with an average age of about 7 before getting his mates to blockade the road so the ground crews couldn't get in .. as such our balloon did an emergency landing by colliding with a bunch of trees and dropping out of the air like a brick :D ..and of course the kids who played tag outside one of the castles and fell the 20ft straight down into the moat onto their necks (literally) and walked away with a few bumps and grazes ... big it up :D continue to page 8 or skip to page 1, page 2, page 3, page 4, page 5, page 6 |
